Birth Doula Services The primary job of a doula is to "mother" the mother. Prenatally, she will meet with you on at least two occasions to explore ways you can reach your goals, she will help you to develop a birth plan to foster positive communication with your birth team and she will help you to obtain the information you need to make informed decisions. Throughout pregnancy, your doula will be available for on-going phone support, and during labor, she will provide continuous emotional support and various comfort measures to help ensure a safe, satisfying birth. Once your baby arrives, your doula will provide immediate assistance with breastfeeding, and she will visit with you in your home shortly after birth to help you process your experience.
